Vice-President

This position serves as a member of the OFG voting board with intent to be OFG President in a future year. In conjunction with the President, hire coaches, build practice schedules, and build season calendar prior to the season. Throughout the season, assist President with communication to both parents and coaches as needed. Oversee Socials Coordinator and Mentor Coordinator. Along with President, plan Mock Meet. This position is a 3-year commitment and requires attendance of regular swim board meetings and periodic attendance of HOA meetings if an OF resident.

Meet Requirement: This position will act as backup Meet Director.

Assistant Treasurer

This position serves as a non-voting member of the OFG leadership team with intent to be Treasurer in a future year. In conjunction with the Treasurer, oversee budget, expenses, and QuickBooks on behalf of the non-profit organization. Reconcile payments through Swimptopia. Along with Treasurer, oversee Sponsorships Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, and Concessions Coordinator. This position is a 3-year commitment and requires attendance of regular swim board meetings and periodic attendance of HOA meetings if an OF resident.

Meet Requirement: This position may be assigned to Concessions during home meets, but otherwise will act as a backup for home and away dual meets. This position will be assigned a volunteer role for divisionals.

Assistant SAIL Rep

This position serves as a non-voting member of the OFG leadership team with intent to be SAIL Rep in 2028 and in conjunction with the SAIL Rep, act as OFG’s liaison to the larger SAIL organization and other SAIL Reps in our division. Attend scheduled SAIL meetings (typically monthly Jan-Aug) and represent OFG. Assist with home meet setup and oversee home meet cleanup. Work closely with other teams to plan and execute divisionals meet. Alongside the SAIL Rep, act as leader for Championships & Classics meets at conclusion of season. Oversee divisionals volunteer assignment in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator. This position is a 2-year commitment and requires attendance of regular swim board meetings and monthly SAIL meetings. This individual is required to complete Stroke & Turn certification.

Meet Requirement: This position may be assigned to Stroke & Turn during home and away meets, but otherwise will act as SAIL Rep and address issues that may arise during home and away dual meets. This position will be in a leadership role planning for divisionals and C&C.

Fundraising Coordinator

This position is an expanded role for 2027 and works with the Treasurer & Assistant Treasurer and has the responsibility of seeking out and implementing activities to fundraise on behalf of the swim team to help us keep swimmer fees as low as possible. This individual is responsible for coordination of monthly spirit nights from January to August (researching location options, scheduling, and advertising/promotion of events). In the spring, this position is responsible for planning, advertising, and managing the bingo night fundraiser. This individual will also solicit donations from businesses leading into and during the season using our nonprofit status. This position also has latitude to suggest new or additional fundraising ideas to the board and would implement/manage/coordinate any approved ideas.

Meet Requirement: This position should sign up for a meet job at home meets, but will be used as a backup for away meets and will be assigned a volunteer role for divisionals.

Merchandise & Gifts Coordinator

This position works with the Team Admin and has the responsibility of planning, ordering, and distribution of all swim team merchandise and gifts. Prior to registration, determine merchandise to sell including design, vendor, pricing, and minimum order quantity. Order team ribbons if/as needed. Once registration closes, order and distribute merchandise. During season, this position is responsible for preparing the swimmer of the week cups for Fun Fridays and for oversight of the Ribbons Coordinator. This position also has responsibility to order and prepare senior, divisionals, and irongator gifts for distribution. This position should work with the Team Administrator to assist in preparing certificates and gifts for the year end party (high points, costumer contest, most improved, guppy helpers, etc.)

Meet Requirement: This position should sign up for a meet job at home meets, but will be used as a backup for away meets and will be assigned a volunteer role for divisionals.

Social Media Coordinator

This position is a new role for the 2027 season and works with the Team President & Vice-President and has the responsibility to update and manage the team’s facebook and instagram accounts (and any other they choose to add). Create pre-season posts and/or stories to highlight coaches, board members, key roles, and registration.Make posts throughout the season to keep members updated on practices, social events, spirit nights, and weekly newsletters. Manage participants and new user add requests for all social media accounts, ensuring that group members are associated with our team in some capacity. If possible, it would be ideal if this person was willing to also serve as the team photographer.

Meet Requirement: This position would ideally take pictures and make social media posts at swim meets. If not, this person should sign up for a meet job at home and away meets. This position will be assigned a volunteer role for divisionals.

Mentor Coordinator

This position is a new role for the 2027 season and works with the Team President & Vice-President and has the responsibility to further develop and engage our teenage swimmers in team leadership. Create pre-season survey for opportunities for teen help. Work with coaches to determine practice helper needs. Update email addresses and mentor group in Swimptopia. Create weekly sign-up genius and send out to mentor group (practice helpers, guppy meets, social event helpers, etc.) Manage and sign volunteer hours for those teens participating in mentor program. Oversee service project and service leaders, if applicable. This position also has latitude to suggest new or additional mentor-focused ideas to the board and would implement/manage/coordinate any approved ideas.
